Natomic Studios
Freeware Games

From 2000—2004 I was a part of Natomic Studios, an independent games studio that made freeware games. This was before making indie games became a viable career path. I made these games while in high school and somehow they ended up on gaming websites, distributed on demo CD-ROMs in PC magazines and even appeared on UK television. Bananarama was featured on Sarah’s Freebies segment on a (very dated) show called Gamezville.
I ultimately spent more time working on gaming-related websites than I did actually making games. At the time, it never crossed my mind that dealing with hacking attempts from “Clan Horse” was actually teaching me about XSS and CSRF attacks.
For better or worse, these games still exist online. Here’s a list of a few of them.
